PQ Technologies carries the swiss made software + AI and the swiss digital services + AI labels. NUCLEUS is developed in Zurich. AI is a core part of NUCLEUS, used in a controlled way: a deterministic rules engine does the checking, and AI is only called where rules cannot do the job.
How NUCLEUS uses AI
Hosting. NUCLEUS is not a SaaS offering. It runs as a dedicated deployment inside the institution’s own environment, on-premises or in its own cloud. PQ Technologies keeps no copy of the data.
Level. We do not operate our own foundation model. NUCLEUS builds on existing language models and embeds them in its own Intelligence Layer, with a rules engine, orchestration and an audit trail. Each model call has a prompt scoped to one task.
Type of AI. Large language models (LLMs) read documents and free text, for example to extract data from contracts and forms. LLM-based agents look up client data, documents and transaction history with defined tools, and propose changes. They cannot make changes themselves; a named employee approves every result.
Model origin. The institution chooses and provides the LLM: a closed-source model in its own cloud, such as Azure OpenAI, or an open-weight model that it hosts itself.
Customisation. We do not fine-tune the models and do not train them on client data. Model behaviour is set through scoped prompts and the institution’s own rules.
Every result goes to a named employee, who makes the decision. More on how NUCLEUS keeps AI under control: Trust & security.
